This Grinter family has its roots in Dorset, England. In particular we typically descend from a village, Whitchurch Canonicorum. Like London, Whitchurch Canonicorum has a saint buried in the local church (Edward the Confessor--Westminster, London; St. Candida--Whitchurch Canonicorum).
